Moving day, without the surprises

Completion week is busy for everyone. This is the list we hand our clients.

Two weeks out

• Book movers and confirm elevator or loading access with the building.
• Arrange utilities, internet and insurance to start on possession day.

The week of

• Sign with your lawyer or notary and bring identification.
• Do a final walkthrough of the home you are leaving, and of the one you are buying if the contract allows.

The day

• Keys change hands once the transfer registers, usually in the afternoon.
• Keep the essentials, documents and chargers with you rather than on the truck.
